Drilling at the UNLV test site by Western Technologies, Inc.

A site has been designated on the UNLV campus for geotechnical and geophysical characterization and ground truthing.  The soil profile includes primarily gravels and sands, with some cemented lenses and caliche. Groundwater is encountered at 3 meters. The site has three cased and grouted 3 in. (75 mm) diameter boreholes, 20 feet (6 m) deep, which are appropriate for crosshole seismic testing.
