The EGL is UNLV’s Engineering Geophysics Laboratory. It resides in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. It is a subset of the UNLV Applied Geophysics Center. The EGL is co-located with the Applied Geophysics Center (AGC) in SEB 3261. |

The mission of the EGL is to promote research and teaching of geophysics for engineering applications at UNLV. Geotechnical site characterization for the arid environment and geotechnical earthquake engineering applications are emphasized. The primary objectives are to conduct sponsored research and educate engineering students in geophysics for engineering applications, through formal coursework and participation in research. An important secondary objective involves community outreach.
